AutoPhi V21 Ascension is the twenty-first generation of the AutoPhi voxel processor architecture, designed by Christopher Gabriel Brown at CRI-ONE / AutoPhi. Codename Ascension, version 21.0, generated 2026-08-28. V21 spans the full semiconductor node range from 130nm down to 1.5nm across ten named tiers, each locked to a single process node. The architecture defines a 2,000 nano-layer voxel state ceiling with performance scaling from 500 KFLOPS (Kilo-class, 130nm seed) to 5 RonnaFLOPS (Ronna-class, 1.5nm full build). The climb stops at Ronna.
V21 Ascension is an all-custom IC — zero companion chips. Every function is integrated on-die. The substrate is AES (0.8 eV direct bandgap, 12,000 cm²/V-s electron mobility, 400 W/m-K thermal conductivity — 8× electron mobility and 2.7× thermal conductivity versus silicon). The architecture features a three-chromosome DNA instruction encoding: a 1,024-bit electron chromosome (doubled from V20’s 512 bits), 96 quantum gate types (+32 over V20), and 19 photon opcodes including the new Crimson VOXEL_STATE opcode for deep-layer voxel state management. All 11/11 core technologies are active at every tier, including PhantasmPhi ghost-math integration and the new QBeam quantum-to-quantum IC interconnect (400 GB/s bidirectional).

AutoPhi V21 Ascension is the successor to V20 Epiphany (999 ICs), V19 Pinnacle (1,000 ICs), and V18 Achievement (1,000 ICs). Where V19 peaked at 100 YottaFLOPS and V20 extended the architecture, V21 reaches 50× higher into Ronna-class performance. The name “Ascension” marks the architecture’s climb through every metric SI prefix from Kilo through Mega, Giga, Tera, Peta, Exa, Zetta, Yotta, and finally Ronna — the defined ceiling. Key V21 advances over V20 include: the electron chromosome doubled to 1,024 bits; quantum gate count raised to 96; the 19th photon opcode (Crimson/VOXEL_STATE) added; PhantasmPhi ghost-math integration brought on-die for the first time; the QBeam quantum-to-quantum IC interconnect added as the 11th active technology; and the layer ceiling raised from 1,200 to 2,000.

Every SKU follows the pattern APV21-{TIER_CODE}-{NNNN}-{NODE}. Example: APV21-ASN-0001-1.5NM is the first Ascension-tier configuration at the 1.5nm node. Tier codes: BDR (Bedrock), FND (Foundation), PLR (Pillar), SPR (Spire), TWR (Tower), CTD (Citadel), OBL (Obelisk), MNL (Monolith), PNL (Pinnacle), ASN (Ascension). Each tier contains exactly 100 configurations numbered 0001–0100, with layers, clock speed, voxel count, phantom modes, and performance scaling linearly or logarithmically within the tier range.
