The third invention in application 19\/540,453 is an electric jet propulsion system that uses a quantum battery as the primary power source and electromagnetic jet propulsion for thrust. The system is designed for high thrust (on the order of 440 kN), Mach capability (on the order of Mach 3.19), extended or unlimited range operation without conventional fuel, and zero direct emissions.<\/p>\n
Integration is specified across mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces between the quantum battery and the propulsion units. The patent specification includes a cross-sectional view (Figure 3) showing intake cone, battery section, thrust section, and exhaust, with hatching indicating internal structure. The result is a propulsion architecture that does not depend on hydrocarbon fuel or traditional jet fuel, while still targeting performance levels relevant to high-speed flight.<\/p>\n
Aviation is under pressure to reduce carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. Electric propulsion has so far been limited by battery weight and energy density.
